On Monday a federal judge ruled that Texas's Voter ID law was intended to discriminate against minorities, which represents a huge win against one of the most anti-democratic voter suppression efforts in the country. A lot of lawyers and plaintiffs deserve credit for the incredible work they did in winning Texas NAACP v. Steen, but we're focused today on lead attorney Myrna Pérez, deputy director of the Democracy Program at the Brennan Center, who has made this kind of case her personal mission.
